    Strangly Cheap DeLorean on Craigslist

While browsing Craigs I came across a DMC whose price caught my eye for being so low (6k). Assuming I'd find a basket case I clicked the link and.....it doesn't seem too bad. Admittedly there is only one picture, and the description is rather short and to the point, but the owner does openly ask for people to come look at and drive the car for themselves. Knowing the internet as I do, this pricing seems a bit fishy providing the car really is as nice as he claims. Still, I live nowhere near North Dakota, so I have no idea if this is a scam or just some guy severely undervaluing his car for quick cash - either way, figured I'd let you guys know.

And before everyone asks, no VIN is provided.

Yeah, I stumbled upon this last night as well. Looked too good to be true. If I was in the market I might've given him a call though...

Call the number. The recording will say "The number you have reached is not in service" Something fishy...

A bit of sleuthing indicates that it may be 02790 currently/formerly owned by Mark Hershey in TX. Anyone know him? He used to be on .com but I am not sure he is one here.

And, yes, six grand for a car that looks in good condition, in an ad with only one picture, yells scam all day long.

It also seems unusual that you can't see the license plate and there is no picture of the vin tag. Unfortunately it is not uncommon for a scammer to grab a picture of something off the Internet, post it and try to sell it. They will offer all kinds of "reasons" why you can't come over and look at it but if you send money you will get it right away! Without independent verification you have to be skeptical. Especially if if it is underpriced to 'hook" you.

I saw much of the same issues, but thought it was worth bringing to the group for more opinions. I'm not looking for another anyway, but I'd hate to see someone else get scammed. I wish I had some real proof of wrongdoing so I would feel justified in reporting it, but as it is it's all speculation or conjecture.

Definitely worth flagging. There are plenty of prospective buyers on the forum that might be tempted buy such a "deal".

This is definitely a mined image. not a real one. so I doubt the ad is real either.
