Background DeLorean in the movie Scarface (1983)

Here is the scene for reference. At around 1:30 in the video when Pacino is standing behind the 928, you can sort of make out a DeLorean sitting in the dealer's showroom in the background.
The outline for the toll booth window is clearly visible.

And here's a screenshot taken from my copy of the movie (slightly better quality):

After a quick search on the web I found that the filming location for the scene was an old Mercedes dealership located at 8825 Wilshire Blvd here in the LA area.
I checked in the DMC dealer list PDF and sure enough it's listed:
05114 Beverly Hills, Inc. 8825 Wilshire Blvd Beverly Hills CA 90211
Obviously not a big deal since you can barely see the car, but as a fan of the film I think it's pretty interesting. The movie was filmed from late 1982 to early 1983 so what we're potentially seeing here is a brand new DeLorean still sitting in the dealer showroom waiting for its first buyer.

If your car was originally sold at Dealer #05114, this may even be your car.

Wow, good catch. I've seen that scene a hundred times and never noticed the DeLorean. I might've been skeptical, but your research into the filming location makes this seem pretty legit. I just wonder why they didn't choose to use the DeLorean in the scene. Actually, you know, the last thing we need is a Scarface connection.

Im gonna throw a monkey wrench in here....I dont see it....if youre talking about the car outside, I see the natural curved reflections off of a window...there isnt enough detail to make out any possible trim around it. I'd bet its a 924 or 944, given that only the front part of the window is visible.

Not the car that's directly behind him, but the one further back, behind the window blinds. Here is a more zoomed-in screenshot:

I think the low profile, the angle of the windshield, and especially the outline of the tollbooth window gives it away as a DeLorean.

Yes, I know it wasnt the one right behind him...hehe.

I'm still not seeing a definate Delorean there...still looks like natural reflections to me...also the window has more of a curve on the upper area, where as the Delorean has a more pronounced turn because of the straight eges. I can see how you might interpret it as the drop glass...but if that was the case, the trim would be visible.

Also if it was a real Porsche dealership they shot at, there most likely wouldn't be a Delorean there, unless its a customer's car.

    I still say 924 or 944.
