Has anyone adjusted the ride height on their AVO rear coilovers that DMC currently sells? Is it as simple as getting a spanner tool and rotating the bottom collar?

Hi there, I have. It's better if you compress the spring a bit to relieve pressure on the collar. That way, you don't need a spanner.Originally Posted by Gregadeth

Thanks! Good to know. How about without having to compress the springs? I'd like to avoid using spring compressors. I would probably only be changing the height about half an inch, so not a lot.

It kind of defeats the purpose of adjustablity a little if you feel the need to compress the springs. But I will agree it makes it easier.
You can certainly adjust them just with a spanner. Coilover type shock/spring assemblies are very common in many other automotive crowds and it does not cause any problems.

My drivers side shock started leaking oil (Hervey's easy rider) so I replaced it with a NOS shock and it fixed the drop (drivers side was lower than passenger side.

Im thinking it was the collar sliding on the shock body causing the drop.

No. I just let it down on the wheel and bounced the rear end a little.

if you drive it you will find it settles a bit.
The springs determine the height, the shocks just dampen.
