Any details on the “Pearl Ace” car shipment (June 19, 1981)?

    Hello Everyone,
I own vin #1134 (Chippewa Falls, WI). I’m trying to put together a binder full of biographical info on my car. Curious if anyone has info on the “Pearl Ace” car shipment of June 19, 1981 from Belfast to Wilmington, DE. Including, but not limited to, photos, car manifest, number of cars on board, number of days to reach Wilmington, crew list, etc. Thank you in advance. I currently have a postcard of the original ship (Pearl Ace was given to its replacement as well) and a photo of the 1,000 car. Otherwise…anything else would be really helpful. My email is [email protected] if anyone has any files or data to send.
    Best,
    John

    Hi John,

I may have the sailing dates and a photo of some pages of the manifest. I'll see if I can dig them up and send them to you. My car was on that ship too, so I'm interested in this information as well.

    Cheers,
    Dana

Are you sure VIN 1134 was on that boat to Wilmington? I ask because your car's VIN seems to be on a manifest but it's not the manifest for that shipment.

Have a look at the first post in this thread.

It shows the manifest for the first shipment to the USA aboard the Continental Highway which departed on April 19, 1981 headed to Long Beach CA.

The manifest isn't sorted by VIN. Skip to the 7th page/photo , the one that starts with VIN 1019 at the top.

See if you agree there's a blurry "1134" there at the B in the Photobucket watermark.

Also, you can see the thread has VIN 1134 in its title.

I'm familiar with the thread since our VIN 0934 was in that shipment.

Good luck in your history hunt.

I have photos of the cars in shipment on this trip. Dana, what’s your VIN? I’ll look for a photo.

    Start here: https://www.deloreanmuseum.org/info-on-your-vin.html

Order the Original owner Certificate and you will see what info they have for your car. It looks like they can also reproduce the original window sticker for your car.
