Does anyone know the owner of this car?

I believe it was posted on the .com site before it was taken down.

    I have a few questions for him/her....

    Thanks.

Although I don't know the owner, I may be able to help. That owner took a set of rear wheels, and had the inside machined down so they would fit the front. I'm not sure if he just had the lip machined, or if the centers had to be cut down as well. He said these is a slight rub at full steering lock, but that's it. If memory serves, he was running 205/50/15's on the front, or something similar.

He was selling those wheels on the .com site, but I can't remember if he ever did. That was years ago so I seriously doubt he still has the car or the wheels, and I doubt you will ever hear from him.

Thanks for the reply. Would you happen to know how much he machined the back by?
Also, what do you mean by "centers had to be cut down"?

I believe what Micheal means by cutting the centers down is that the rim was cut cross sectionally, a portion removed, then welded back together to make the rims narrower. This would definitely be quite a project.

Actually I was referring to the inside face(where the lugs are). I'm not sure if he even touched that part or not, but I know for sure he mentioned the inside lip was cut down some. I also remember someone in the DeLorean vendor community (Maybe Don S.?) told him it couldn't be done and he did make mention it when he was putting them up for sale.

If you ask me, that was one of the best looking wheel options I have seen yet and if I didn't have the machined wheel option on my car I would have bought them myself....In hindsight I should have done so anyway and finished them myself to match the rears.

PS, He took a few pics of the car and the pictures he took from the front really looked good.
