Where is the best place to buy caliper rebuild kits or have them rebuilt by a vendo?
Thanks banzai,

we offer full rebuild kits and also calipers ready to go (with cores) on our site. www.delorean.gostorego.com

Here are the four calipers with stainless components (not available from others at this price)

Rebuild kit with high end components. By using stainless pistons you add many years to the service life of the caliper.

If you are just looking for the seal kits all the vendors carry them, otherwise you can get parts at NAPA and RockAuto that are exact fit.

Napa p/n's are
Front: 667 - $7.69 per caliper (need two)

Rock Auto
Rear: 989 / WK989 - $8.63 per caliper (need two)

Just checked Rock Auto and they also have the front NAPA parts on closeout for $2.30 per kit, 18 sets remaining.

Unless the outer cylindrical surface of your pistons are pitted you can reuse them. They should clean up with some brake cleaner and a little elbow grease. I used a white scotch brite pad to avoid scuffing the surface.

You can be a little rougher on the cylinder bores of the calipers when cleaning them since the inner surface of the rubber seals are what seal to the piston surface.

After disassembly I sand blasted the caliper halves and had DMCMW replate them in yellow zinc. A bunch of pics here:

I rebuilt my calipers myself, had them powder coated as well. For the amount of money you need to put in parts and the effort it takes to rebuilt all four, I would highly reccomend just sending your cores in and buying a set off Josh. And with him it will be a one time thing, just install them and never worry about rebuilding the calipers again, so its excellent piece of mind (Assuming you bleed the brakes at regular intervals!)

Now would also be a good time to install a new master if it is leaking and SS brake lines.

Wow that's even cheaper then when I bought them from you a few years ago!

Working to make this as affordable as possible by producing in large quantities. With the launch of our new store at the end of this month you will see hundreds of previously unlisted and or unavailable components appear at reasonable prices.

Very much looking forward to this. Thanks, Josh. :)

It is almost that time. Still working out a few bugs and have a couple hundred products to finish indexing and cross referencing to applicable products. Ease of use is key.

Hey Josh!

I am definitely in the market for new calipers as well. I just purchased my car and and all of the calipers appear to be semi-seized. I have taken them all off the car to get ready to send them in as cores and ran into a bit of a problem..... I have doubts as to whether or not my rear calipers are girlings. Could you take a look at the photos I have attached. And let me know? I will attach front and rear pics of two calipers, one from the back and one from the rear. I feel as though the rear calipers may be half girlings half not...

If the rears don't turn out to be girlings, what are my options??
