I just took my D for a 400 mile trip to San Diego, it's fist big outing after restoration.
Everything was fine.. except an small idle issue
Sometimes it idles at around 1700. I tiny "blip" of the throttle, brings it back down to around 800- 900.
Any tips?
Thanks
Jeff
Sounds like a sticking throttle mechanism. Does it do this only at start up or say when you pull to a stop?

Not at start up, when I pull to a stop. I guess that does seem like a cable or linkage issue.

I would start there. Could be the cable sticking or the linkage. I've seen some "fixes" that involve adding a spring to pull the throttle back to a resting spot but I'd say start with lubing the cable and linkage, make sure things are smooth.
