I have recently painted both my front and back bumpers with SEM bumper coat spray paint and they turned out really great (for the $75 I spent). I know the cars were originally not clear coated but was thinking about clear coating mine. My question is if I decide to clear coat the bumpers what kind of clear coat can I use. I assume the clear rattle can paint needs to have "flex" agents in it like the bumper coater has.
If I use regular clear paint will it crack on the bumper or does it need a flex agent in it?
Part of me is thinking of not clear coating it because if a couple years down the road the bumper needs a "touch up" it will be a lot easier to paint. I am also curious how much shinier my current bumpers will be when I add wax to them. I haven't done this yet because I don't know if I want to clear coat them or not.
