This was in the pipeline for a while... pics have just been released. Seriously considering picking these up... the car is going to be big (and expensive unfortunately!)

Oh most definitely! I would guess 500-600 dollars for the car alone, 250 or so for the figure.

HKG$1430 for Marty. So you can calculate the exchange rate. But you have to be a HKG resident to preorder.

The Delorean will be BIG, at least 600mm long. Maybe closer to 800mm as these 1:6 figs will have to fit in.

Well if the car is 1/6 scale, then it would be 27.6 inches long (166" real DeLorean length divided by 6), or 70.27 cm.

They're collectors' pieces though, the detail and workmanship in them is top notch. I have a cabinet full of them, everything from figures from Predator, Alien, Iron Man, Terminator... they have a number of big film licenses on the go. Check them out here:

Thess, for example, are some of their best so far:

Sideshow Collectibles in the US is a stockist for those that side of the world, I'd say Aussies would be better getting it from HK!

OT a bit... but thinking of this 1/6 scale versus life size... and whether any of us need either as a doll/action figure/model... you ever see those life sized Yoda statues? They came through a Pepsi promotion I think. It's a pretty sweet addition to the living or rec room if you find one somewhere. I think a lightsabre and the Force is no match for a puffy red vest and camcorder...

Amazing craftsmenship in all of their "dolls". I never heard of them. I am not familiar with the scene.

Hmm, DMCH fuel pump and sender unit or a 1/6 action doll of Micheal J. Fox....I guess DMCH wins.

What? No raised white lettering!!?!? kidding. that thing is awesome. The 1/6 batmobiles cost about 4-600. So i expect the same price range for this one. Maybe higher. This one has more lights inside and out.

There was an LED headlight car at DCS. James W. I think was the name. Parked next to me in the tent, across from where the Proto 1 car was sitting. Had Irish flags out the back area.

He moved the car out of the tent area parking on the Saturday night and a few of use got to see the headlights he was sporting. Josh, Rich, Steve Rice and a couple others were sitting there when he came through. They were insanely bright. I mean like illegal bright. And that was just the low beams. We got a highbeam demonstration and I think there are probably 747s with lighting for landing the plane at the airport that isn't quite that bright.

I would guess you're either going to get pulled over by the police and told to change them/get ticketed, or maybe if that doesn't happen, some justifiably angry dude would probably kick them in if he caught up to you at a parking lot. I don't recommend those wherever they happened to come from. Unless you sell Advil/Tylenol for a living and benefit from people getting headaches. In that case, they would be just right for you.

It's really impressive for everything except for the Michael J. Fox likeness. His face doesn't look like MJF. It looks like a young Robert Patrick or something. Almost looks like they mixed Michael J. Fox and Eric Stoltz... I have seen photos of their other figures and think they are usually very good about getting the look of the actor's face right. This one is a bit off. I will still seriously consider buying at least the car, but I am still iffy on the figure (unless they had a Doc and Einstein one also. :))

For those that know their products, how feasible would it be to remove all of the BTTF props and be left with a stock D. ? Is the external wiring etc molded with the fender, for example, or is it glued on later?

Is it likely to have an engine? Detailed underside?

I also didn't care much for the look of them while off, but that's a completely subjective opinion.

I want this badly, specifically the car. I just don't want it $600 bad. Here's to hoping the AutoArt model sees the light of day, is below $300, and just as great looking. Might be too much to ask.

I collect quite a bit of Hot Toys... All figures and no vehicles at this point as they are expensive.
Their stuff is absolutely spot on.

I sent my wife some pics of this the other day.
Her reply was, "That's really cool... How much?"
My response was, "Does it matter?"

So... You know I'll be getting one.

Michael
07-24-2014, 05:40 PM
It needs more than door lights. The entire interior needs to be gutted and rebuilt using fiber optic cables for the individual bulbs. Chaser circuits would make a cool led board display behind the seat. This would be an awesome display after about 50-100 additional hours of modeling. I just may buy one to rebuild it in my own way.

600 bucks is not chicken feed, but it ain't 6 grand for a pair of Nikes that light up either. When you make that comparison it doesn't seem too bad of a deal.

Excellent video. Incredible detail, especially all the wires they ran on the outside of the car. Did anyone else notice that the "DeLorean" bumper lettering appears to be sticking out rather than sunken? I wonder if they did that for production reasons or if it is just a mistake.

I want it $600 bad... I just don't have space for a collectible that big. (Also, I think a light saber and the force is definitely a match for a puffy red vest and a camcorder; a collectors grade, large-scale Millennium Falcon would displace this in my home for the same $$$ if I had the space)

Very cool model, although I'd only want a standard DMC model that size, no interest in the BTTF car to be honest.

Sorry to be picky about some details on the underlying car itself and I'm not sure if this is just a prototype they made for that show or if it is representative of the model they will sell - but there are some areas that I think should be improved, as noted in the pics attached.

I hate to be that picky as I do think it's a really cool model!

It's a prototype as is the figure I'm sure... though the final may look the same.
The Hot Toys process is that they produce a prototype and then use it to market pre-orders. It can be anywhere from 6-8 months from the time of ordering to delivery. IN that time some things can change though usually not significantly.

BTW - They must not have gotten Nike to sign off yet as there's no swoosh on the Bruins.

Sideshow Toys is now selling through their site as of today.

$638.00 -It's not cheap but their stuff is worth it if you're in to this sort of thing. The attention to detail is unsurpassed in the industry.
You can pay for it in installments of about $75 a month which is not too bad if you consider what else you are willing to spend that type of cash on - if you buy a mocha every morning you're paying more than that.

Release date is March of 2016.

And it is big... 28" long, 13" wide and 8-12" tall.

True dat. I have around 20 figures, from Alien to Terminator, Batman, Iron Man, Predator, etc. I had to pass on the 89 Batmobile as it was just too big to put anywhere!

I have a few hot toys, Iron man, Batman, Superman. I am considering this, but marty and the delorean will run nearly $1k! I should probably get new carpets and a dash pad first! The only thing with hot toys. Once they're out. they're out. Late model figures go for a pretty penny.

I have way more than I should - I've been collecting them for several years. And you're right - with everything essentially made to order when they're gone, they're gone. There's no going back unless you hit the second hand market. I'm actually going to probably sell a few of my older ones to pay for this.

I may need to build a new wing on the house too - this sucker is huge.
