They have a legendary reputation in the community for being built like a tank.

All positive.

The only negative is that they're significantly heavier than stock/OEM.

If you're looking for new LCA's, Byrne's product is hard to beat, and I personally wouldn't hesitate purchasing them. I personally know several owners who are running them, and know of many more. Never heard a single complaint about the product itself (a few people struggled with installation, but that was there own fault/mistakes and had nothing to do with the actual quality of the product).

If you can wait a little while, Dave Swingle/DMCMW is currently testing a prototype machined aluminum LCA that looks very promising as well.

Once they hit the market, it'd be a toss-up as to which ones I'd personally opt for, but you really can't go wrong with either IMHO.

I have seen way to many aluminum arms fail over the years. The load on the bushing is extremely high and will work a steel sleeved bushing out of the softer metal in no time. Caster is achieved through flexing of the bushing. This isn't an issue where the arm is held in two points at the chassis in a wishbone design on modern aluminum arms. I am sure we will see a number of failures in the future.

I hope someday we will be able to see a set of the Front Lower Control Arm and Lower Control Arm, both in Stainless :smile:
