Hey guys, I was installing an LED in the engine compartment and came across this connector. Where does it go? Also, where does this other part bolt down to? It looks like it could go a multitude of places back there.

Also, I bought two new dome lights, but they connect differently. I can get them to light, but not function properly. How exactly do they wire up?

I think the first one is not used depending on your driveline (manual auto)...not too sure on that one though.

the second one is the vacuum solenoid and the bracket attaches to the back of the metering unit. You will have to look behind and under the fuel distributer and probably see a clean spot where it goes.

Thanks. I have an auto tranny.

Ill go back and look for where it goes. I wonder if this bouncing around could cause my idle issues..hhmmm

The first one is for reverse lights on a manual.

I came across this photo as I was scouring my computer looking for a photo of the final drive fill plug location (which I still need and would gladly accept your donation to the picture fund :) )

It shows where your vacuum solenoid bracket bolts to. No idea where the photo came from as it isn't my car. Hope that helps.

Looks like the part it bolts to (distributor?) was recently replaced before I bought it. They forgot to hook it up

Check the vacuum hose routing against the label on the engine cover. It matters which hose goes to which port. The wiring connector can go either way.

Excellent!!! Thanks

No problem Alex. Glad it helped.

I've been going through some old files and photos seeing what is there and I'm aiming to post a number of them in the resources or how-to section, or photos section I guess in case they come in handy for others.
