Greetings all!

First time poster and first time owner here, just had my 1983 D dropped off this morning here in southern California. What a blast that was driving to work today :D

Just wanted to say hello and thanks for the info supplied throughout these forums; I've been on here the past month lurking and doing my due-diligence reading past threads to make sure I found a Delorean that worked for me.

Welcome to the club. Glad you have been lurking and learning instead of just jumping in and not knowing what you are getting into.

Oh, man. That takes all the fun out of it. :clown:

Congratulations on your D! :aniclap:
And remember to post pics. It never happened/is not real if there are no pics!

Heres a couple pics I got

Car is an 83 5-speed with 2500 original miles. It's all original from what I can tell with the exception being I randomly have the late style Craig radio instead of an ASI. :dunno:

I live in Lake Forest in Orange County, so I'm just down the street from Danny at DMC California, I plan on taking the car to him in a few weeks to make sure it's road worthy and good to go.

All original is right. I don't see the red paint mark in the engine bay for the front end recall, so you may want to check and see if that was done. Has the throttle shield recall so it may be there and just no mark.

Looks like a nice car, enjoy!

Looks great! As I scrolled through the pics I commented to myself how clean the engine bay is, then I scrolled to the next pic and saw the mileage! No wonder! :)

Looks like your A/C has been updated. It appears to have r134 service ports on it.

Great car! Keep us posted on how the visit to DMCCA goes!

Wow, that car is shiny! And only 2.5k on it. Amazing. The interior is looking great! Congratulations (again)!

Wow, beautiful car! Glad the forum was able to help guide you in the right direction. You certainly found a nice example from what I can see in the photos.

Where did they normally put the Red Paint Mark??

On the "firewall" - the rear bulkhead of the engine bay, next to the ignition resistor. Should be a red dot, usually the size of a dime/penny and pretty sloppily applied.

My cousin is actually named Tim. As for me, ? ? ? ? == K y l e, not terribly clever, but it works.

But yes the recalls is one of the things I'm going to have DMCCA look at when I take it in for a more thorough inspection.

And thanks for the welcome!

Red paint mark on an 83? I always thought the 83 was after the recall so it was done during its build? Where would the mark be?

Good point... but who knows. Only way is to check for castle nuts and strengthening plates, etc.
