It's pretty rare for me too see another D in the wild. I was pleasantly surprised to see VIN 5756 parked in a (Volunteer's only) Parking lot at EAA Airventure Oshkosh WI today as I was leaving. I just had to snap a few pics to see if anyone on here knows who it might be.

Mark D. This is in your old stomping ground. Do you know who this is? Or does anyone else on here know who this is?

Nice sighting!
This car belongs to Matt Hissem who is a friend of mine that lives in Appleton, WI. He just picked up his car last year:

and has spent the past 7-8 months pulling the body from the frame to repair rust issues. He recently got the car back together and is driving around enjoying it. He also installed a set of lowering springs in the front and made a few other upgrades. The crumple tube on his car had quite a bit of rust so he built a new one from scratch using the old one as as template. I was pretty impressed with his fabrication skills.
I'm assuming he's at EAA with his Mercury space capsule replica that he's built...it's on display somewhere at the event.

He's registered on DMCTalk but I don't think he's on much.

Yeah that must have been a typo. The VIN is 5754 as shown in that photo of the dash plate.

Yep Typo. Too bad I didn't know his story before now. I just got back from the show again today he was parked in the same spot as yesterday. Unfortunately I won't be heading back up there this year. 2 days was enough, my feet are killing me. I did not go into the NASA building this year, therefore I did not see the capsule. That's a Bummer.

Looks like Matt's car is now a time machine:

Sorry for the double post! I did a google search of the forum looking for other threads, nothing had come up. Must not have been indexed yet. Should have just looked at recent posts.

That's parked? It looks like he abandoned ship in the middle of the lot. :hysterical:
Talk about exposed and out in the open. Well... I guess he doesn't have to worry about door dings.
Cheers
Steven
