This is the first failure of this kind I have seen, so I thought I'd post it here.
When I went to put my convenience spare on after my daily driver had a flat, I noticed it only had 30 PSI. Since I was home, I got my compressor out to inflate it to 60 PSI. When I got to about 35 PSI, SNAP went the stem and POOF went the air!

May this never happen to you if you're in a hurry. :)
