Hi everyone,

Just a quick one. I have a blemish from a tiny knock on the staineless (certain angle of light, you can spot it). Was thinking of getting someone to take a look to see if it can be pushed/pulled.

Question is that the spot is located to where the carpet is behind it. Can this be pulled or peeled back? Or if doing so, will it damage the surface on the outside when pulling it off?

Thanks everyone.

I think the carpet is simply glued on the back of the stainless. I remember seeing one without the carpet and it looked just like bare stainless, with the only suooprt to the skin being the X and the perimeter of the hood.

You may have to be careful cleaning the old glue off the inside of the hood, before re-gluing the carpet in place....then again, after 30 years it may come off fairly easily.

Thanks for the advice. Someone mentioned that there was fibreglass behind the carpet? Seemed strange to me. But the tiny ding is not behind the X which is good news! :) thanks for the reply!
