Hot hot does the high side line get???

I measured temp on mine earlier and it was around 180 degrees.. is that right?? My ac compressor and hoses are all original but still work.. the temp coming out of my vent was between 60 and 54 degrees.......

What refrigerant are you running? Where are you checking the line temp (in the engine bay, before the condenser, or after the condenser)? What was the ambient air temp when you took the readings?

I measured the temp right at the end of the hose where it goes into the compressor.. and it was about 90 degrees outside....

That compressor outlet temperature might be about right. It's nothing to worry about directly, anyway. I've never measured it on our car. The compressor outlet temp. hasn't got a lot to do with the vent temps.

Am assuming you tried to measure that temp. because you aren't happy with the way the A/C is working.

The accepted A/C troubleshooting metrics are based on high side and low side pressures plus vent air outlet temperature and ambient temp. Your vent temps look high for a 90deg day so you should get a pair of pressure gauges on your system, then take appropriate action based on the pressure readings. Also note the compressor cycling pattern at idle and while driving and be sure both of the rad fans are running when the compressor is engaged. Standard stuff for any car with this kind of system on it.
