Odd DeLorean memoribilia - any idea what this is?

In viewing this craigslist ad for what seems to be a nice white car

I noticed this photo of included memorabilia, most of it recognizable except for the 4 white/black discs, that look a little like furniture sliders or 7" singles.

They are home made hub covers, if you look closely at the wheels on the car, there are studs in them to attach the covers.

I had seen a close up of the wheel, but just thought that was a pattern on the center

That car on the cover of the Delorean World mag on the lower right... that's my actual car. Awww yeah!

Remove the bonnet go fast stripes and maybe add the thick DMC side stripes, it would actually look really nice.

The hub covers might replicate the wheels to resemble a little like aftermarket late 80s Zenders.

This something Martin Mail (planning director DMCL) passed on to the club at a recent talk he very kindly gave us. He called it a 'Coke' tray though slightly in jest. He was pretty sure it was a development drinks tray to enable drinks to be passed through the toll booth windows to help prevent spilling. It's approx. 8" sq

Sorry to be a Doubting Thomas, but the only way that would work would be to pour the coke in the tray from outside the car and use a straw to suck it up from inside the car.




edit: just re-read that, and clearly there is a coke/Coke ambiguity in there :)

Just change the word "suck" to "snort" and the same concept pretty much applies.

Any idea what the "CTC" stands for?
No sorry, he could not remember exactly why it was manufactured (possibly prototype as that's the area he worked in) but was pretty sure it was for passing things through the windows. I guess CTC was a plastics manufacturer?

CTC = Composite Technology Corporation, a company JZD purchased for their ERM technology which the car was supposed to be built from, rather than the eventual fiberglass body.

Sorry I missed these CTC posts over the Labor Day Holiday (took a little time off and away from the forum too).

Composite Technology Corporation was based in Troy, Michigan and some pre-QAC, DMC Employees worked at CTC.

King POG, Jeff Synor, began working for DMC with a small office in the back of CTC, and the CTC loading dock area
was the first "garage" for some of the early DeLoreans in the US, including VIN...520. Jeff also met his wife Sue at
CTC, since she worked directly for JZD for a while, and Sue told us a slightly different story about the CTC trays.

Basically, the "trays" were made for marketing purposes and as a sales tool, so people could get to touch and feel
an ERM product. The "trays" were made in a variety of colors (also to show the color choices of the ERM product).
The "trays" were never meant to be actual trays, rather, just an item to illustrate the ERM product's look and feel.
