I noticed it today, a hissing sound for about 10 seconds after I turn the car off, after I had A/C running.
Hissing sound comes from where the accumulator/dryer is located in front wheel well.

I've always thought that was a pretty standard thing from cars with vacuum run mode selector switches. I've come to miss that sound on newer vehicles. I could be completely wrong though. I'm fairly weak when it comes to AC system knowledge.

It is the sound of the high/low pressure stabilizing at the orifice tube. It lasts a few seconds. If it lasts for a bit it can indicate a plugged orifice tube.

I got to thinking about it last night, and that is exactly what I came up with, makes sense...
Thanks all for replies.
