A few blocks from my office we have an exotic car club. About 4 months ago they added a DeLorean to their fleet. It's a bit on the ratty side and its currently not running. A few weeks ago there was a yellow sticky note on the binnacle that said "Don't start, ENGINE FIRE!!!".

They have some really nice cars there and a very friendly staff that lets us come in to poke our heads around once in a while.

First time I have ever seen Recaro seats in a Delorean. Interesting!

Those seats do look nice.... I've never been a big fan of leather, either in my D. or in my Infiniti. I prefer a good, firm fabric material.

The Recaros (in the DeLorean, in the above ad) do have black fabric covers.

This design is very similar to the Recaros in the Cars and Concepts DeLorean Convertible sketch,
with only the custom center panel pattern being different.

My current donor set of Recaros for the Roadster project are black leather, which are more common.

These black fabric Recaros (even with the one split seam) look pretty good in this DeLorean.

However, I am not sure what is going on with some of the mods in the engine compartment.

Must be a New York thing - looks like they are trying to keep someone from stealing the fascia. OR the engine. I've seen bars on windows but never an engine!

Maybe their way of preventing engine cover sag? What's with the WW fluid bottle? Or the extra hose heading forward between the A/C compressor and the manifold???

It's a real coolant overflow bottle. So when it overheats you don't dump coolant on the ground, rather it goes into the bottle and then can be drawn back into the header bottle. Pretty common on cars nowadays.

I've been up close and personal with this car many times. It's rough. For a while it sat in the corner of the shop with a yellow sticky that said "Don't Start: Engine Fire".

Good luck with that next owner!

I dont understand why they didn't detail the car before putting it up for sale. Even just realligning the front bumper would make a difference towards the sale price.

7:43 he refers to the DeLorean fire.
