Anyone else want to put a sign on your car that says "wait til you stop driving to take pictures"? Today on the way to work I had a swerving in and out of his lane behind me trying to take pictures, and another guy trying to take a picture while taking merging into the left turn lane. I enjoy that they like the car, but I'm afraid they are going to crash into me or someone else. Anyone else see this a lot?

Yep, it happens all the time. It makes me very nervous. I'm glad tourist season is ending here. They were especially bad about this.

Yep that happens a Lot.
The first weekend after I bought my car, I was sitting at a red light when the car next to me was hit from behind, Hard.
I still wonder what the hitters attention was focused on. I've become even More attentive about what's going on around me since then.

I too had an incident the day I picked up the car where a guy almost sideswiped me on the interstate while trying to take a picture while driving at 65+ mph.
More recently two ladies in a car next to me almost rear-ended the car in front of them because they were looking at my car and not where they were going. Needless to say they were embarrassed and I just smiled at them... That gave them a laugh.

Nowadays, I have my Spidey-sense on full blast when I'm driving just to look out for the idiots out there.

There's a Youtube video of a Delorean gathering in Sydney where a Suzuki Swift was not paying attention on the freeway, losing control and hitting one of the Deloreans. He/she must had been trying to take a photo of the convoy.

Yes. Something like this happens every time I take the car out. It's arguably the biggest reason why I don't drive my car very much.

Ditto on tourist season making it worse (I live in a beach/cottage town). Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Smartphone cameras encourage this picture taking DeLaparazzi crap unfortunately.

Everyone's looking for the next big thing to go viral, and they'd love it to be them. Kind of f%&ked IMO, because if you look up the definition of viral, you'll realize it's more related to a sickness than anything glamorous.

For the most part I find people just want to take a picture and then carry on. I don't generally have a problem in the city because there is too much traffic, it's on the highway where you get problems. I tend to drive a little slower than the majority of the traffic, that way people come up behind me and are a little less "surprised" to see a DeLorean. They disappear into my blind spot for a minute or so, take some pictures, then carry on. I find it's more when you're passing people that they tend to go "OMG, A DELOREAN!!!", then they need to speed up, go around, etc. etc. to get a picture.

Tom's extended convex side view mirrors are also a huge help for anyone who might try to linger in your blind spot. You basically get a 180 degree view behind you with almost zero blind spot.

I have this problem in manhattan a lot. People speed up to stay next to me or slow down to stay next to me slowing every one behind them down.

Have had people try to get closer to try to yell something at me. have had drivers whipping out their camera phones and not looking at the road ahead of them and veering into my lane. Also happens on the highway. Have to be super alert with these idiots endangering themselves and everyone around them.

I also tend to stay in the slow lane on the highway seems to be better than passing people who try and catch up.

I'm with Mark on this one. I move through traffic quick enough that everyone gets a glance, but have very few issues with people trying to take pics. Those that do and get stupid about it I just move over and slow down, putting other cars between us, or just "hit the brakes and they fly right by.":neener:

THE DAY I TOOK MY DMC HOME:

On I287 some guy blocks traffic FOR 3 MILES to take pics driving adjacent to me so nobody can pass. He had 4 CARS backed up behind him flashing lights trying to get him to move. I ended up slowing down 20mph UNDER the speed limit so this jackass would pass.

Then 10 mins later a guy in a Porsche GTR passed me, then slowed down just so he could give me a thumbs up, then continued back to his previous 100mph speed. I gave him a thumbs up back since I couldn't compete with his HP or his $100,000 price tag.

The piece de resistance though was a green, rusty 81 Ford econoline van following me for 10 MILES right up to where I pulled over to get gas. They didn't need gas. So I'm a little freaked out at this point and these two ZZ Top dudes get out and say "Man! Look how big he is!" (I'm 6'5") and they just sat there and stared (there were ultimately 4 of them) and asked a couple of questions.

I appreciate the attention, but sheesh I wasn't ready for this weird sh#$ when I picked up the car.

I've been almost smooshed a few times thanks to people not paying attention to everything but me. I guess I'm just accustomed to everyone becoming stupid when I drive my car now because I watch for it.

It has to be a New York thing. I consistently get the highway driver in the blind spot slowing down or speeding up to look at or take pictures of the D but only when I was in New York did people try to have a conversation with me while driving 65mph on a 3 lane highway. The first time, this small chevy blazer was coming in hot in the middle lane behind me. I was at 65 so he was smoke'n. Anyway, now up to me he just gets passed me then slams on his brakes to match my speed & pull aside of me. The passenger leans out the window and begins to talk to me. Not quite hearing me clearly because I have this tiny toll booth window to speak thru, he proceeds to lean out even further (now out to his waist), all while still going 65. We are coming up on this car, he changes lanes and we both pass the car splitting them on either side. Like nothing ever happened he continues where he let off. I answered a few questions, he thanked me and then they sped off over the brooklyn bridge. Hilarious. I wish my friend behind me had taken a picture. Definitely a memorable trip.

I've had my DeLorean for 7 weeks now & this has happened to me several times already. The car creates a lot of smiles. I like that other people appreciate the car, but some people can be real idiots at times. Honking, driving with one hand, taking pics while driving on the highway, speeding up to stay even with me. Dangerous stuff. Slowing down seems to the safest bet. These cars have star power like no other! 8)8)8)8)8)

I had a new one happen yesterday.
I was waiting at a red light, (first in line), when a guy runs by my door, stands in the cross walk and takes a Selfie with my car in the background.
He then runs back to the SUV behind me and gets in.?.?
I looked at the car on my right, (an elderly couple), and just shook my head and laughed. They were laughing also.
