Hi...new owner of a Delorean. I purchased the Jim Varney, Island twin turbo upgrade VIN 02102 and am currently working on fixing and upgrading the vehicle. Quick question...I noticed that the bypass relay on the firewall in the engine bay has been removed and the UV wire goes straight to the resistor block. I don't have any issues starting the car, but am wondering if I need to re-install the relay? Would this have been part of the turbo conversion?

The car can start and run without the bypass relay but it is a good idea to reinstall one. Removing it is not usually a part of the Island Turbo install. Check how the Lambda is being controlled into full rich and if there is any mod to the Control Pressure Regulator to get additional enrichment. Make sure there are no air leaks in all of the plumbing. Check the outlet of the turbos on the air side for any oil leakage. Keep the engine oil clean by changing it regularly. Make sure the boost is limited to 5 lbs. Timing is set between 8 and 12 degrees BTDC.
