I stopped at a tire shop this morning to get my fronts replaced. They punched the size in and it looks like they have a stock of 17 NOS Cooper Cobra G/T 195/60R14. If anyone is interested I could certainly buy them a set and ship them out.

I would ask 300US shipped per pair.

let me know if there is any interest, i know these tires are hard to come by!

They also could be quite old. I had found some as well a few months back and when they arrived the date code was already five years old. I sent them back. Check the codes!

What is the date code on the tires you bought? I was thinking the same thing. Are they still making those tires?

The tires have not been made for more than a few years. No matter how you slice it, they are never going to be new. Pick your battles, right?

Edit-

But yes, grab the codes josh.

Waaaay more importantly - ask to see where they were stored and ensure it was dry and out of any UV light.

I don't recall exactly what the codes were now. At the time, I was shocked how long they had been in storage at the distributor. They even had a discount on them, then I figured out why.

They are/were stored on the top shelf of the tire racking (roughly 6 feet off the ground) in a dark warehouse with a cement floor.

As Dave mentioned, they were discontinued a few years back. So the date codes will definitely reflect this. The set I have on my car are from early 2008.

Nothings special. . . .

In the OEM Sizes: "No tires found in your search criteria. "

With 225 rears, there is a large choice of crap tires and about 3 good ones. I sure hope I never see a car in here with Nankang tires on it. .. .

While I don't need tires today I know they're not too far in my future (see what I did there?).
What's, or is there, a tire of choice in the original sizes? I know there are no matching front/rear sets available...
What do you guys recommend or install at the shop?

We're currently using the Toyo Extensa. We were using Falken but not the ones currently sold. No particular reason, the Toyos seem to do fine and they are readily available.

The Vredestein is a good pick (at 2X the price). All of these are in 225 rear/195 front.

You can get OEM sizes in BFGoodrich but they will be different tread patterns (and different overall tire design) if that's a big deal to you.

So that would be $300 shipped to 99517?

Also, do the fronts have the raised white lettering like the rear 235/60R15's?

No the fronts do not have RWL. But you can color them in.

Dave did this, just as I did with mine:

Ill have to confirm they still have some in stock, but if they do 300usd shipped is what I am asking.

Its just under $100 to ship the tires to the states, even to Alaska. Funny thing is I can ship them to Whitehorse for $50 but as soon as it crosses the border it is double. Frustrating.

You can paint them with mild success. I repaint them every season and it lasts about 1,500 miles. There is a thread on white tire paint.

I have seen many tire combinations before I bought.
The Vredesteins are truly a great and significant upgrade to the
exterior appearance. Performance seems to be average.

Just my thoughts.

Uh-oh, I know this website. A shop in Vegas. I tried to contact them by email asking about stock for these tires and they never replied. I should have called them, but I got some used ones from my friend Dave, who started this thread, at the time.

I don't think rims4less is a legitamate business. Google them and you will get multiple forum posts of people saying they got ripped off.

Anyway, I am not trying to compete here. Just sharing a stockpile of hard to find tires with the community. If you want to buy tires elsewhere go for it.
