Hallo, my Delorean smoke and smells of gasoline when cold. But when it's been running aprox 5 min it's running very nice and don't smoke. Also if you turn it of an on there's no problems.
Do you guys know why, or what I should chance on the engine ?
And sorry I'm not very good at engines yet :-)

From Denmark

Hi,

I had this on my other car and it can be the O2 sensor or the connection to it. It will feed back wrong or no information and run the mixture too rich, therefore burning more fuel, hence the fuel smell. Maybe a flaky contact as it seem to even out.

Cheers!

Thank you. Are lambda and O2 sensor the same? In pretty sure the lambda are new, not 100% I didn't do that my self

During the first few minuets of running the O2 sensor is not working so the lambda ECU presets a fixed value. The mixture setting (done with a hot engine) and the warm up regulator affect that cold (open loop) mixture.

Make sure your mixture is set first with the warmed up engine.

Then you should get a fuel pressure gauge to check the warm up regulator. Most people just seem to get a new warm up regulator rather than test it.

Thank you. Warm up regulator is that the same as REGULATOR, CONTROL PRESS?

This is the Warm Up Regulator (WUR). (https://store.delorean.com/p-6612-control-pressure-regulator-warm-up-regulator.aspx) So your answer is "Yes" as it is also named Controle Pressure Regulator.
