Saw that the "Newest Member" to DMC Talk is Robert Grady. Is this "The" Robert Grady of West Sayville, NY? I hope so, and I hope he chimes in from time to time. He's one of the original Delorean Dealers and Mechanics. He knows more about these cars than just about anyone. Rob is one of the most respected people in the Delorean community since the beginning. I was fortunate enough to find a car, Vin# 15500, that had 11 pages of receipts from PJ Grady's. I added a few more pages before leaving Long Island and making the drive to Nashville. Drove straight through, 15 hours without any issues.

Please tell me this is "The" Robert Grady.

Not sure who's shop that picture is of, but it's not Rob's. I wouldn't count on seeing too many postings, if any, from Rob. When I took my DMC there over the summer there were 11 De Loreans at his shop. When I picked it up 6 weeks ago there were 17 and he's a one-man band. He's a fricken Cylon if you ask me working alone on all those DMCs. Not only is he the ONLY original dealer left in the US, his knowledge spans 3 decades of DMCs and this forum could definitely use his input. However, as with most small, but excellent DMC shops, these guys are busy working on your cars all day long and don't normally have time to get on these forums and respond to postings. I'm still amazed to see Josh from DPI post every now and then because THAT dude is not only crazy busy, but amazingly innovative. Either way I live in CT so Rob is my go-to regarding the issues I cannot manage on my DMC. He's THE MAN and he's a straight shooter. He simply doesn't have time to overcharge or lie about what he's fixing to get a better price. Once more he has a great partnership with DPI so you can't go wrong buying parts from either one of them. He installed my DPI exhaust, but had to uninstall the old crappy one, then tune the car to match the DPI exhaust. The car is just the bomb diggity now thanks to DPI and Rob. :woot:

Yup it's me and that picture is of me at the last DMA spring social/inspection day but i didn't post it?? Thanks to all for the nice comments and I WILL be posting in the future now that I got past the slightly convoluted (for me)signup process. Hell I just got my first smartphone 5 months ago and this completes my first leap into the Delorean cyberspace community since the DML went out of fashion. I hope the ride isn't too wild but I've been warned i'll be torpedoed now and then. That's OK as I'm a big boy now! I'll be baaack!!!!

A big welcome to the real Rob Grady. In my 6 months of ownership so far, both he and Josh at DPI have provided me a bunch of great parts and advice. And if he knew someone had something better, he never hesitated to refer me to DMC (thanks dave and julee!) or Josh at DPI.

Rob...I still need to get my car over to you for that weatherstrip and door adjustment!

thanks

for sure tom! I was in NYC this past weekend to see some friends who played a concert in Central Park and I had all intentions of taking a detour to Rob's, but I got sidetracked. hopefully over the next few weeks.

I'd like to say welcome too, even though I don't know you. But I've been on here a long time, and have heard only good things.

Yup it's me ...[snip]... since the DML went out of fashion.

Also wanted to point out that the old DML has been, at least partially, revived, as the remnants live on in the new DOD (DeLorean Owners Directory (http://www.citizenkidd.com/dmc/pages/dod.asp)) .

We'd be honored to have you join any time!

SWEET!!! Didn't mean to speak for you Rob, I just know you're crazy busy, but everyone seems to know your work product so it's nice to have your input evey now and then. Glad to see you'll be perusing this site! :cheers1:
