Alternator opinions

Hey guys-

So I am looking at getting a new alternator in hopes of getting rid of my engine noise. What is everyone's opinion about available alternators for our cars? DMCH, Hervey, or Saturn? I am looking for cost analysis vs. part performance output vs. ease of installation. I was sort of hoping to not have to change the pulley or any of the mounting brackets from stock. However, I could be swayed I suppose depending on any benefits.

In the future I hope to have an upgraded stereo system with the possibility of a 4 channel amplifier. But probably nothing more in the sense of electrical add-ons.

Hi. I had a Ducellier in the car when I got it and it was shot. They rebuilt it, but the 80A it pushes out are not really great. I therefore decided shortly after (when detecting that the VR was shot) to buy the Motorola from DMC NW, which puts out 120A and I do not look back. It is a great alternator. I am not sure if it will cure your engine noise issue. It will if you can clearly pinpoint the noise to the alternator.
