I was cleaning up my new speaker wires last night and found a black wire, probably #14, with a eye on the end. It was attached to a mounting screw for the (new) dash just behind the left kneepad.
Why? there is no metal there. was there once a metal frame inside the original dash and this wire was meant to ground out the dash itself? Is it supposed to land somewhere else?
I put a meter on it and I had good continuity to ground already, so I guess its not doing any harm just floating like that, but what is it?

The original dash was foam-over-steel so it was probably for some static discharge purpose. There also was, on most cars, a wire that fed from that under the windshield glass to ground the window frame and front sheet metal.

If its long enough then I'll probably pull it over and gang it in with the radio cluster grounds then, redundancy doesn't hurt when your wired up by Lucas...
Thanks sir!
