Can anyone tell me if you are essentially ordering parts from the same place if you are ordering from any of the DMC locations?

It seems to me that if I go to any of the DMC-California/northwest/midwest/Houston websites looking for parts, I always get redirected to the same catalog from DMCH.

If one were looking for a part that DMCH said was in stock but later said they didnt have, will any of the other locations potentially have it?

Also, I am a really big fan of the MOMO DMC steering wheel and would really like to purchase one. Unfortunately, I cannot fine a place it which to purchase it from....

Help please

The Momo steering wheel is a hot topic apparently. The DMC vendors have them in stock with the required adapter as well as the DMC logo to replace the Momo in the center. I can't recommend it enough... you can see my post here:

I found the listing for the MOMO wheel with adaptor, but no price and none in stock.....

Do you have a different link you could provide?

Just call Dave at DMC-MW and I'm sure he can fix you up with what you need.

(815) 459-6439

I never order my parts through the online site. I'd much rather talk to a human being.

Call/email one of the DMC vendors... I live by DMC CA, so I order from them when I need to get something so I can just go pick it up and save shipping costs. The picture of mine was put on the DeLorean Fanatics facebook page earlier, somebody like yourself asked the same thing, and I believe he ended up talking to one of the DMC Midwest guys to get his.

Or just listen to Chris here who's more helpful with an actual phone number!

I believe the adapter is around $80 or $90. For the steering wheel it depends if you get a genuine Momo or one of the knock offs.

The adapter went up, it's close to $150-175 I think

The DeLorean.com webstore is the same for all franchises. If you go to it on the main website, it defaults to getting filled by Houston directly. If you pick up the phone and call one of the franchises directly (Midwest, Northwest, Florida, California) then they fill the order. You can call Houston directly too. There are many reasons why an owner would want to get their parts from one location versus another. Most of the time it will just be comfort level someone has when speaking to one person versus another. I also feel comfort in speaking to someone on the phone (or emailing them my parts list) and not the "add to basket" ordering.

The main stock of DMC parts all pulls from the same general inventory to my knowledge. Whether something is "in stock" as opposed to "no longer available" is different though. The different locations can have local stock of a certain item and another may not. Houston you would think has most everything in stock and the other franchises have less space to keep parts, thus less in stock. This only factors in primarily if you are needing something in a rush, as they all can do internal shipments between locations anyway. Something that is no longer available though is gone and then you start to need to find where the last couple are or if they are being reproduced by DMC or another vendor.

The main DeLorean.com website changed a while ago and it is very nice. What was lost though it seems were the individual franchise pages for unique parts. Midwest had a page with some items on it like the Joe Cool fan controller or strut bar. Northwest has a number of different unique offerings and Toby has another webstore for these. His Wings-B-### product line has things like door openers, coolant bleeders, lighting upgrades, etc. Most franchises also seem to have many appearance upgrades which don't seem to always be found on the main store. Many of the stainless products like door sill inserts or louvre braces for example.

The prices are generally the same between locations but shipping will change for you perhaps. Going across a border can also add cost and working with one location can help minimize variations if you find a way that works best for you for cost and timing.

I'm not sure how often the webstore gets updated to reflect availability. It is usually accurate but not always. Again why calling is helpful but hard to do that on your own at night if you're trying to figure out what your next move is on a certain part of your car.

I would like to see the webstore show the individual unique parts but I don't know if that is what they are planning on doing. Perhaps someone from Houston or a franchise will comment here about it. Seeing so many parts in person at the DCS vendor booth in June was amazing. There were many things I didn't know you could get, which is unfortunate, because seeing things in person when considering how far away many of us live is not very practical and seeing it on the Internet is more likely.

You asked about DMCX parts and there is also a whole range of parts from non-franchise vendors. I'm not very knowledgeable about those but seeing what Josh or Hervey has for sale can show you other options. Josh has a lot of stainless parts he's made to replace NLA parts or to improve the part design or reliability. Hervey has many parts that are described as better in some way either price or reliability. I can't comment myself from experience and seeing what others have experienced isn't always accurate so I'll leave my opinion off that one.

The long and short of it for me to you is to try to get a personal connection with a location and then talk to them. Ask about what they have and what you need on your car and I would imagine it'll give you a better sense than purely the internet alone.

If you pick up the phone and call one of the franchises directly (Midwest, Northwest, Florida, California) then they fill the order.

From my past dealings with DMC Florida, (Unless something has changed), they are a DeLorean dealer and repair shop. Not a DeLorean parts vender. They do stock parts but, only for the repair of cars on hand.

Keep in mind there are other vendors and sources for parts besides just the franchises. While we stock many NOS and DMCH parts I also have a large inventory of parts of my own design or specifcation most of which are not known to people unless they're already customers. My new website doesn't show most of my inventory but that will change as time permits and we can add things to the site. It is a work in progress...slow progress!

If anyone is interested in any particular part or list of parts for now the best way to check our inventory is to send a PM, ask on our website, or call (800)350-7429. You may be pleasantly surprised at all the choices and options I can give you regarding availability, price, and quality. If you don't ask you may miss out on a superior part for your needs.

NEW ITEM....I will soon be announcing a new lift piston set for the DeLorean designed to my own demanding standards that will be the best quality available at a reasonable price. More on this as soon as my stock arrives! It will be worth the wait if anyone is considering new pistons for the doors, hood, or sunshade.

Toby ended up opening his own website for his enhanced kits and used parts list. Check out his website (http://www.delorean-parts.com/). You will find used parts and his special kits. I bought a few of them already (bleeder kit, central locking system, remote trunk release, etc.). Or simply call him.
