Water pump back cover?

Got my new water pump, but for the life of me I cant get the cover off the old one. Ive soaked it for a week in PB, hit the bolts with a ball peen hammer, and tried everything I know how to do. Its these hex screws, they are rusted and just wont budge at all. Is the back cover available for purchase somewhere?

You don't really need to buy a new backing plate. If the hex bolts are seized, cut/drill off the heads and take the backing plate off. It should separate quite easily without the hex bolts holding it back.

Replacing 5 bolts should be cheaper than a whole new backing plate!

PS - anti-seize is your friend :)

You might want to give the US vendors a call and see if they have a back cover to sell and save a few bucks shipping.

You can find some hardware the correct size to replace the hex screws. When you put the pump back together make sure you have flat surfaces, a good gasket and some type of gasket sealant.

Thanks guys! I am on a little bit of a tight timeframe, so I went ahead and bought a used one from DPI. It is being overnighted and will be here for install on Saturday. I will make sure to add antisieze and then work on the other one when I have some time.

May just be easier to sell the whole thing off, since the water pump works. Not sure yet.

Wasn't planning on selling you one. Going for a swap out. Just flat rate your entire pump back and I will worry about getting it off carefully. Much rather have one back instead of selling out right.
