Was 2014 a successful year for wearing out the rubber on your car?.

Fairly straightforward poll. How many miles did you drive in your D this year?

Choices:

1- 15,001+ miles
2- 10,001-15,000
3- 7,501-10,000
4- 5,001-7,500
5- 2,501-5,000
6- 1,001-2,500
7- 501-1,000
8- 101-500
9- 1-100
10- 0, didn’t turn a wheel under it’s own power

As always, posts about notable journeys this year will be keenly read.

I probably put double-digit miles on the D Rex, for the third straight year in a row. (a lot for D Rex)

Most notable was the 5 minute drive with Christpher Lloyd riding shot-gun in the D Rex at DCS 2014.

Also drove several miles, up and down Woodward Ave this year, although it was very early in the morning.

About half the miles were driven off-road, for the Barcroft Cars video shoot (still waiting on the release).

Had some mechanical issues early on this year. But some personal issues and slight illness that blind sided me this year kept the milage low. By comparison 3165 currently has 67xxx miles on it. In late 2012 it turned 60,000. In 2010 when I first got it back it had 42xxx on it. Those first two years back were pretty good for miles.

But nothing compared to when I first bought her in 98. She had 12xxx miles then and when I sold her in 02 she had 42xxx. Very well used those first few year's

Good poll mate!

Just clicked over 36K, but haven't really calculated how much so I guessed. Had 28.5K when I bought mine over 3 years ago.

Got the car running for the first time in over a decade in May 2014, put on 20,000kms by the time I parked it at the end of Sept 2014.

Based on my fuel mileage guesstimation, I drove it 2,720 miles this year. That's a lot more than previous individual years as my to-do list has gotten pretty short finally.

The drive to DCS and back was easily the highlight. For a number of reasons. It probably saved me and the car from ending our relationship, lol. I mean that because I was getting to the point where I didn't like driving it locally and I wasn't that fond of driving it to the city for the day either. I was beginning to question why I even owned it and thought if I didn't go to DCS in it, then it needs to go to make room for some other hobby.

Besides the weekend in Dayton itself and all the activities and people I thoroughly enjoyed, the drive there and back really gave me a new lease on enjoying the car. For driving it that is. I got home after about 1,500 kms and felt like it had given me a shot in the arm of confidence. This was even after having a fuel line come loose while on I75 just North of Dayton! I wouldn't wish that little experience on anyone, but I got home and felt like if I can handle that, I can handle anything else that can be thrown my way.

Not in a million years would I have predicted in advance the kinds of experiences I've had with this car in the seven years I've owned it. But for better or for worse, it still sits proudly in my garage, waiting for the winter to come and go and bring about another driving season. Cheers :)

I have put 1, yes 1 mile on her since taking ownership late this year. And that was really only to shake down the new brakes I installed. Unfortunately, my to-do list is very long..... I hope to accomplish a lot of repairs over the winter and really get it on the road next summer!

I drove 5,209 miles on 1019 this year. Part of it was driving from DMC Midwest. Part of it was driving to Dayton for DCS.

My first year, purchased in May. I did just under 2500 miles and might take it out again. The best part was driving during a club event with DeLoreans in front and in the mirror.

6300 miles this year mostly driven as a regular car. It wasn't my intention to use the D as a daily driver but with no major mechanical or electrical issues to be solved and a summer on the cool side (inoperative A/C since acquired) my thought was, "why not?" Definitely a rewarding year as nearly every trip was either a chance to blast through rural switchbacks, show off somewhere or make a new friend at the grocery store :tongue2: (writing this makes me want to move to a more car friendly climate!)

I have to dig through my old gas reciepts and figure out my miles for this year. I know it's well into the 10,000 - 15,000 range.
I've been waiting for it, and my Lambda light turned on two days ago at 29,975 miles. :)

At a red light today I took a picture of my dash.

Zero miles driven in 2014 with just one year of ownership and (still) just below 13k miles on the odometer.

I've done about 4,000 since getting the car in late May. I've made some long trips with it. DCS was around 1,200 miles. Ran it up to MN, then I took it on another 1000+ mile ride to SEO in FL for some work over the winter here.

After getting the car in July and driving her roughly 1000 miles on my first drive with her, I put another 1500 miles on her until October before laying her up for the winter. I have a to do list, like most others, and my first 3 1/2 months with her were only plagued with small electrical issues. Looking forward to working on her and upgrading her for the next driving season.

My collective DeLorean mileage in 2014 was just under 2,700. I put 2,470 on 4194 and just under 200 on 5052. :-)

Bring on this year's poll, Dermot... I had to shovel some snow this morning, lol.
