I thought some of you may like to see some photos of the progress DMCMW is making on the restoration of 10722. This D will have a new SS frame from Pearce (#5 of 22) that I have been storing in my parents basement for the last 15 years along with several other new mods:

- DMCMW aluminum LCAs
- SS brake and fuel hard lines from Classic Tube
- SS steering shaft and U-joints
- new shocks, springs and steering rack
- aluminum cooling tubes
- cooling fans from DMCNW
- bunch of other crap I cannot remember

Please enjoy the pics.
I've been saving for 10 years to make this project a reality - thanks Dave and Julie, Mike, Jim and Alex!
Merry Christmas to me... ;o)
Andy

This is going to be an awesome restoration project :thumbup2:
You must be happy to have a SS frame :)

Thanks Domi! Yes, I am excited about having the SS frame, but hope I never damage it because a custom-made piece like this will be a real PITA to repair/replace parts.

Just a couple before and after pics of the engine along with a photo of the new undercarriage.

Enjoy!

That's an original and opposite situation. A painted Delorean stainless frame.
Looks lovely.

I had to chuckle about that too. Are you going to keep it painted, or at some point strip it back to stainless as well?

Cool project!

Just curious, did you always just want a SS frame or did you choose to go that route because you needed a new frame?

It's not paint. It is a protective lacquer-based coating for the stainless - ;) I live in the country with lots of rock roads so don't care what the paint looks like right now. At some point in the future, I will probably strip the paint back to the stainless.

Funny story, I bought the Delorean in 2001 from the original owner. I had $8K burning a hole in my pocket back in 2003 and I like shiny things. Then I met Bryan and Reg Pearce...

Nope, my frame was in good condition and was sold to another owner from New York that needed a new frame. I just got tired of storing my SS frame so...

Andy- I think this is your frame on the showroom floor at DMCMW. I took these back in late October when I was picking up my car. Very nice!

Definitely. There aren't that many around!

Both frame swaps are complete now and the cars are parked until the roads are a lot cleaner. We don't test drive cars in the winter at all. So far both the cars have made a lap or two of the parking lot.
