New England Repair Shop

I was speaking with several other Delorean owners about repair shops in the New England area who they trust to do basic service and maintenance on our cars. Obviously Rob Grady is the "guru go-to" person for anything DeLorean related but the discussion turned to closer facilities who do more in and out basic repairs for those owners who are not do-it-yourself'ers or as we put it "mechanically deficient." One owner mentioned www.merrymotors.com" in Salsibury MA not too far from the NH border and everyone was wondering if any owners have used them. Their website claims that they are "Delorean specialists. We are the only Delorean repair facility located in the north east recognized by DMC." Not sure what that means and if Delorean Texas works with them but figured we would post the question. If anyone has used them please let us know your thoughts and experience with their work.

Yes, I've been there several times. Steve Quint is the owner--good guy. I'd recommend checking him out. Steve has been around our cars for years and knows them well.

Wow that's interesting! I wonder how many more years I'll have to put in to be "recognized by DMC". Whatever that means?!!! ;)

We are the only Delorean repair facility located in the north east recognized by DMC."Awfully fishy considering the only search results for "Merry DeLorean" on Google (https://www.google.com/search?q=merry+delorean) are two for them followed by a ton of Christmas-themed pages (and a merry-go-round), and there is zero mention (https://www.google.com/search?q=merry%20site%3Adelorean.com) of them by DMCH. Unless we're talking about the original DMC, in which case, isn't that PJ Grady? :hmm:

As is said around these forums, "support your local vendor". They'll support you back when you do.

Speaking of which, how's the new iPhone working out Josh? Saw you dropped the old one in a vat of coolant. Wasn't my old coolant from the turnpike incident, was it??? ;)

I think EVERYONE would agree that Rob has nothing to worry about. Not only is he well respected throughout the New England area but Nationally and Internationally as one of "THE" most knowledgeable, helpful and finest DMC technicians out there. There are only a handfull of people in this world that share a similar weath of knowledge and expertise that Rob does and we are all fortunate that they are willing to share that with us on a daily basis.

With that being said, JRNY13, thanks for your input as I was more concerned about negative feedback about this shop as I hate to see a member get screwed by someone who doesn't know what they are doing. Glad to hear you had a good experience. Fortunately for me I have been able to address most of my cars issues myself (which doesn't necessarily mean I know what I am doing - ha!) but others have looked to Rob and other shops for maintenance they can't perform themselves.

Glad to see this thread started as I was wondering the same thing myself. 6369 will be coming to Sudbury, MA in March or April and I'm going to be looking for shops. I'm going to try to do some things on my own, but some things will be beyond my capabilities and equipment.

I used to go up to New England every year to work on cars at club events when there was an active goup organizing things. That could be arranged again if anyone wanted to step up to help with logistics for some type of event.

Well, I'm new to this whole thing right now, so I don't know how many people/members we have around here. The New England portion of this forum is sort of dead and with winter here, I'm not holding out hope that it's going to pick up any time soon. We'll see what happens in the spring.

Anyone know of any shops out west of Boston?
