Fuse block replacement question

I'm in the middle of my fuse block replacement. I got the old one out and noticed something about fuse 18. There are no wires connected and it appears there were never any wires there to begin with. See the bottom right hand corner set of terminals.

My sheet says this fuse is for the stop lights. Is this normal? My brake lights work fine...or did before I cut out the old block.

Just off-hand I recall the brake lights having a fuse under the dash rather than the fuse box.

Maybe it was just a hack job done on my car. The brake lights didn't work before I bought it and we couldn't figure out which fuse was connected to the circuit from the box itself. Found it under the dash instead.

Yes that is normal on many cars. The fuse is in the harness near drivers side feet.

Awesome, thanks guys. Looks like I have 2 extra terminals for when I inevitably screw up.

Yep, just did my box this pas weekend and it was the same. I screwed up more than a few of those terminals. So much so I had to order more. I found at least for me it was best to start the terminal with needle nose pliers, then finish with a legit crimping tool. I then followed that up with solder just to make extra sure the connection was solid.

That's exactly what I did too, David. I'm proud and amazed to say I didn't screw up a single terminal.
