I last saw it in Cincinnati a few years ago. Rick never sold it after he created it.

Is it one engine in front and one back, or two engines crammed into the back?

Honda engine in the front and a 500 cubic inch Cadillac V8 in the back.

Technically "dual engined" rather than "twin engined"

FWIW, there was a Citroen 2CV Sahara model or something to that affect that had dual engines, one in the front and one in the boot. The idea was in case one failed you and you were in the desert, you could still press on or seek help under your own power.

I saw one of these at the auto museum in Tampa last year. This was a factory built-car so a little different than the dual engine DeLorean. What was the benefit according to the owner?

Rick took me for a ride in the dual engine DeLorean at the 2006 DCS, it was crazy fast with a ton of power.

Have we all just moved on from the days where this would have been considered "creepy?" Ya know, photographing/stalking someone (you don't know) in a random parking lot as they get out of their car. Did that change solely because everyone has a camera in their pocket now and an Instagram account to go with it? Does anyone mind their own business anymore?

Yes, Yes and No.

Yes, Yes and No.

Say it ain't so!

... I should have used the <rhetorical question> font for that one, lol.

I'm guessing the fuel tank(s) is tucked under the car below the parcel shelf?

Under the console actually. 5 gallon capacity.

Passenger compartment ends right behind the seats (there is no parcel shelf). No back window either.

The car has a custom made ladder frame, which freed up space under the console.

So 5 gallons split between two engines? I'm not too knowledgable on cars, but what is the benefit of adding a second engine?

Probably no benefit really...

At least it still runs. This car could of been junked years ago.

Rick typically drives on the Honda engine alone. Cadillac engine is fired up to give passengers a thrill ride. Obviously both engines together suck a tremendous amount of juice, but even the Honda engine alone doesn't get very good fuel economy (the car is significantly heavier than a stock DeLorean). I traveled with Rick at a DMA event once and he had to stop to refuel every 50 miles or so.

Being in public means you have no expectation of privacy. So it's perfectly legal. Nothing has ever changed.

Likewise, who hasn't ever had photographs taken of them while driving? It's why I say you can't be an introvert who hates human interaction and gets mad when people bother you, and still hope to own one of these cars.

I was noticing the wall behind the seats- clever. Thanks for the added info Bill.

Rick's frame:

45215 45216

Unlike a DeLorean, Rick's rear engine isn't turned around backwards. That's why he can't have a parcel shelf -- engine (massive engine) sits slightly forward of where our transmissions are, and is much taller.

Car needs 3 engines. Thumbs down.

Glad to see this one out and about. IIRC, when it was for sale a few years ago it seemed to have some running issues, so it is good that they seem to have been sorted out. Or at least one ebd has!!
