Hey guys-

Can you guys tell me if I have tightened my AC belt too much if I cannot spin the lower pulley? I have noticed that I have noise coming from my AC idler pulleys, and am about ready to replace the bearings but I need to know how tight the belts should be on the pulleys when the AC belt is tightened. Currently when the belt Is tightened up I can barley spin the top pulley, but the bottom one won't move at all. Should I be able to spin both or none when the the belt is tight?

Thanks in advance for the advice

Sounds like it! You should be able to pull the belt at least 3/4" away from the top pulley (thus easily spinning the bearing) with moderate hand pressure. Spinning the bottom pulley at all is not good and therefore should not be used as a reference.
