Real Lives Reunited - DeLorean workers get to drive their creations after 35 years

Unrelated to the main Reunion event (http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?10376-DeLorean-Workers-Reunion&highlight=reunion) that is in May, the BBC just did a mini-reunion for their show "Real Lives ReUnited" show featuring Davy Winnington, Joe Murray (employee #65), Alan Hayward, Jo King (employee #69) and Dick Mulholland (thanks ArranJ for the lineup). they talk about working in the factory and then get a chance to drive one of the cars that they built.

Perhaps this was the window John was describing in the old Pennebaker clip where he explains that a previous solution wasn't "elegant" enough. He makes a sort of motion with his hand outlining this shape?

Interesting choices of music in that segment ... "The Caissons Go Rolling Along" ...? Was there a connection between the U.S. Marine Corps and John DeLorean? Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" was an interesting choice for the when the narration dropped out for a minute. :)

Very nicely done. One thing I noticed was the photo of DOC BROWN in what appears to a PROP car (not real). If you look at the Open Door you will notice the the lack of Door Lights and NO front Latch slot / mechanism.

IIRC, they made a number of fake DeLoreans for the second film where the car had to "fly." Pretty obviously fake ones, if you ask me, but hey - it was only a movie. ;)

They made 1 fibreglass car for BTTF II. There's an apocryphal tale of there being 2, and that one it fell from it's wires and was destroyed, but I've never seen anything to back that up. The photos below show it missing various trim pieces not to mention a ridiculously oversized DMC badge. Even the seats were fibrelgass if I remember right - I used to have photos of the interior.

Well that's sweet. I had never seen the gasoline prices until seeing your second picture. Does that say $8.99 per gallon? Kinda happy that one never came true :)
