Vacuum Hoses - size?

Hi there,
Does anyone know the proper size (ID) of the small vacuum hoses used around the engine, for example the ones used on 102405?

Those are 1/4" or 1/8" if memory serves. (Disclaimer: I haven't touched those hoses since 2008.)

Thanks! I'm looking for the OEM correct size. (I am a stickler for details). I tried to match them locally, and they looked close to 3/16 or 5/32.

The hose on the heater valve is real small. I think I got 3 mm but that is just what I remember. I think that was the only hose that listed the size in metric.

The smaller ID hose will hold onto the nipples better. There really is not any volume of air flow needed with larger hose.

Yes all around but as you noted 1/8 is close enough at 3.2mm.

Hi Dana,
I was going by memory and double checked the silicone hose size we use for replacing these hoses in the shop and I was wrong.
THE CORRECT SIZE IS 3.5MM. Sorry for any inconvienance.

You must have an automatic trans. as only that application uses a 10mm fitting on the driver side that links it to the A T modulator pipe. Unfortunately that tapers down to about 5mm at the pipe and is not available from DMCH. I'm unaware of a cross reference but the good news is so far the longevity of this molded hose has been very good barring damage. The other side feeds the brake booster on all cars and is also 10mm.

Hi Jeff,

On my manual car, the driver side is smaller and 5/32" fit. On the passenger side it's bigger, and I didn't replace it but I think it is 3/8"

You don't have to pay M/M's prices AND shipping. Any large, local auto store should have all the hoses you need and they will sell it by the foot. Unless you decide you want to splurge and get all silicone. In that case the Delorean vendors have kits they can sell you and it will be a lot cheaper than trying to buy small quantities on your own.

Thanks for the heads up.

I only need to replace a couple of my already-silicone hoses (which were purchased from a vendor), so I don't see the point in purchasing another kit.
