DPI AC line install

Working in installing new ac lines. Can anyone tell me what these are for?

Those are the fitting retaining clips. Once you push the fitting into the hose the horse shoe end fits around the tube neck then you install the crimp on rings in the 2 recessed locations . The system being used is called. Eaton E-Z Clip .

Looks to be an inline r12 fill port or it's the high pressure switch hose adapter which would be installed in the short hose just before the accumulator. I'd say it's the latter of the two.

That's your high pressure hose w/ built in hub. The electrical connection is the high pressure cut-out switch, the piece opposite the switch is a relief valve. The inline adapter previously pictured should replace that hub assembly.

Your new -6 shortest hose should be long enough to reach around the accumulator and connect to the evaporator with the switch adapter between the two components.

Remove the black caps from the compressor elbow fill ports and post a photo.

No it doesn't fit. That's how it looks like it should go though.

You're missing a piece then. Or were shipped the wrong adapter. That sucks. I'm planning to do that job this spring.

It would work perfectly if the adapter was larger. I've called and emailed josh but no reply.

Just saw your email Alex. Hp switch adapter goes at condenser. There is a -8 to-6 straight fitting that goes at the evap core.

That o ring in the picture is for the evap to line connection. You need to flush the evap core after looking at that pic.

It doesn't fit on the condenser. It connects where the orifice tube is correct?

I'm gonna say Alex's hp switch wiring will not reach the condenser location. His switch was on the hub fitting.

Figured it out. Goes on the other side of the condenser. Just need to extend the switch.

I don't think any vendors supply instructions with line kits. If a shop charging 98 per hour can not figure out how to run a couple of lines in the same place where the ones they take out are....

Then they don't know what they're doing, which is a strong possibility - yet to be determined. I've read through various posts on the forum, some infer that it's a very easy DIY job, some say it's darn near impossible. One thing I know for sure - a D vendor could do it with no problem as they have years of experience. Wish we could convince a vendor to open up in good old Charlotte. Close to the ocean, close to the mountains, what's not to love? Lots of wealthy people here to buy the cars, etc., etc. Josh you've been here before - you know you love it. And what about Rob? PJ Grady South! Wishful thinking...

O yeah that point when I was talking to someone on mainland China. Flipping bizarre.

Someone hacked into my Verizon online account and changed my phone number. It iust so happened that it all took place while I was on the call with josh. It disconnected me and when I tried to call back it directed me to an operator. Immediately called Verizon and they changed it back, so I was good about an hour later.

Geez that's scary. You were lucky you just happened to be on the phone when it happened. I can only imagine how you would have been trying to figure out what had happened the next time you tried using it.

Well it just got worse. I got an iMessage telling me to call my friend. Apparently in the 5 minutes they had the phone they forwarded all of my calls and texts. Since iMessage is data based that's all I was getting. I could make outbound calls but all inbound were rerouted.
