I've been generally off the forum since September last year. Can any avid members provide a summary of what I've missed since then?
Notable threads to go back and read?
New vender/part announcements?
Any new members in MN or western WI?
Misc?
And no, I haven't finished the new instrument cluster yet, but I am still working on it.

Here is some news. Not formally announced elsewhere yet, but there are some big changes in the works for DCS 2016.
DCS 2016 will not be near Indianapolis (and not because of recent legislation and threatened boycotts of Indiana events).
DCS 2016 will still be in the Midwest, within 200 miles of the Indy 500, but there has been some significant changes.
Jason Sharkey has had to step down (due to personal reasons) and we wish him well with all his personal matters.
Location and event dates will be announced in a few weeks, but it has been in the works for the last three months.
Until the details are finalized, plan for DCS 2016 for sometime in mid-July of 2016 (not on Father's Day weekend).
Other than this development, everything else in the last three months has felt like "side notes".
More details to follow soon.

That's good news, Father's Day makes it a little tough on some of us.

Is it still going to be in the state of Indiana?

And some laws might make the chosen location worthy of being boycotted...depending on your conscience of course.

No, it will not be in the state of Indiana, however the IN DMC Club members have offered to assist with running DCS 2016.
I only mentioned the recent legislation and boycotts of Indiana events in response to Marc Levy's recent post on Face Book.
I am sure someone will want to protest something, somewhere, regardless of whatever laws have been put in place by whomever.
As mentioned by Rich_NYC, we hope to add a number of new folks to the roster since DCS 2016 will not be on Father's Day weekend.

I do not do Face Book, but another DeLorean owner forwarded me the post a few days ago and this seemed like a good time to mention it.

So If I understand correctly, because Marc Levy is a homosexual he will not be allowed to go?

Haven't been watching the news for a long time, now I have to go google what laws everyone is talking about. Love to see the show as northwest as possible.

Alright folks, it will not be in Indiana. Lets move on from this to keep it from getting locked. I see this could get ugly fast....thanks!

If Levy & others wont go to Indy because if this law they better not show up in the 22 other states that have already had a law like this in effect for some time now.

See, I would be in the pro-Fathers Day camp, as it gives me a great answer to "what do you want to do for Fathers Day"
Anyway, back to the OP.
Repro Binnacles were made in Ireland and shipped to owners here with generally positive results, albeit with a few hiccups.
Deloman in Germany is planning a round-the-world tour with three cars - wee deloreanworldtour.de for more on that little outing

DMCDave is still awesome
I don't think that'll ever change.
I've never spoken to or dealt with Dave and Julee but everyone on both forums (basically the entire Delorean world) love them and respect them highly.
That's enough for me!

+1
Also.....this is another annoying double-standard boycott as I see it. What if everyone that isn't "hard-left" boycotted the show because we felt the state it's held in isn't "pro-OMOW/pro-life/pro-gun/pro-man/pro-small business/...etc. enough?
Ridiculous....I vote to keep personal politics out of it, one has nothing to do with the other. Even if the show was held in the uber hard-left People's Republic of NYS I'd still go (instead of folding my arms & stamping my feet like a little kid,) because for me it's about the cars & the owners, not what anyone's personal/political preferences are.

There are some significant and important differences between the Indiana laws and the existing laws.

For as much as I have been a part of the DMC community for the past 20+ years, and as much of my time I have given, I think I deserve a bit more respect.
I do not do Face Book, but another DeLorean owner forwarded me the post a few days ago and this seemed like a good time to mention it.
Wow Rich, I guess I never realized there was hostility between us.
If you (Rich) have taken over the reigns of DCS, and already decided to not have it in Indy, then I do not see why it was at all relevant to mention me, or my private comment.
I think it is in poor taste to "cut and paste" a private post on FaceBook to a public forum, but since you have, maybe it would be good for anyone who gives a crap about what I think to go back and read what I wrote.
At no point did I encourage anyone to boycott DCS. My comment was "... if they are still having it there and this law is in effect, I will not be attending." I speak only for myself, and at no point asked others to boycott.
If I am not welcome at your show, just say so.. Just like the folks at DCO have done for their events.
Having been to every DCS, and assisting Ken in some way for all but the 1st one, Let me know if I can be of any assistance to you.

Clearly representing your lack of understanding for the issue at hand, but this is not the proper forum to discuss it and I doubt you care enough to understand.

Sorry Marc. After spending about three months trying to pick up the pieces of the DCS Transition, the last thing I wanted to see was a hint of boycott statements.
And if there was an ongoing discussion after your initial post, I did not see it and I apologize for taking it out of context, since I did not see the whole discussion.
Everyone is welcome to the show, regardless of where it takes place, which is why I had a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to the hint of "I'm not coming because...".
Your assistance will be welcome and appreciated, if the offer still stands.

Seriously. If you have an issue with someone's political or religious affiliation, take it elsewhere. I for one don't care to see a thread about "what happened while I was gone?" turn into something so heated and yet entirely unrelated to the topic at hand. :offtopic:
