Just got my Hemming Motor News and looked at the Deloreans. There is one for sale for $100,000. It claims to only have 24 miles and never registered.

Just got back from DMC Houston and they have an all original never titled Delorean for $54,000. Car is still on MSO. I believe it had 1,000 miles on it.

That is cool, but yeah, I agree, if you want a near 0 mile car there are cheaper options! Heck, a "new" build runs about $60k right? And then you know it is mechanically sound.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they don't even offer those "new" builds anymore, and haven't for a while.

Isn't that what they are doing for Mario's EV build? Or is that just a full refurb?

Would it happen to be #7199?

Nope, whole new build! :) I thought it would be a refurb, but they said they're putting together a new one from NOS. I guess they're making an exception because they were going to start selling electric DeLoreans but decided not to. One last hurrah?

Though I am paying a bit more than they used to charge for the new builds, too (and without an engine either!).

.,.And there's no guarantee it will be mechanically sound. It's a 30 year old car and moslty 30 year old parts even though N.O.S. There will always be problems and that's backed up by plenty of sories. No fault to the shops - it's the nature of the car.

Cheers

DMCH is building you an EV Delorean? Is there a thread where you are talking about this? I'm interested.

Check out the "Electric DeLorean" thread in the Custom DeLoreans forum. Remember the electric DeLorean prototype that DMCH showed in 2011? They said they would start making them in 2013 but never did, so I asked if they would make just one more for me. DMCH is making a new build car from NOS, then sending it to EV West for motors and batteries.
