Clutch reservoir line

I replaced my rubber hose from the clutch res to the master then refilled the reservoir. Any chance that changing that hose could introduce air into the system. I would rather not bleed the system since i did it last year.

Not likely, any air bubbles in the hose should rise up the hose. Just driving the car should jostle any air that might have been below the top of the barbed fitting. This is assuming you didn't push the clutch pedal while the hose was off.

I would bleed it after that. I replaced that hose a few months ago...not as easy as one might think!

But the new hose was full of air. So yes, you need to bleed that air out.

Didnt touch the clutch pedal. Just removed the hose, refitted the new one and topped off the reservoir

It was an extemely tight fit. I put a couple 6mm sockets in each end of the hose overnight to stretch the openings. No problem fitting it after that

It may not be neccesary as the air can travel upward into the resevouir and purge itself. If the pedal engagement changes in any way however then bleeding is advised.
Equally important is that you used the correct size and type of hose rated for brake fluid. You shouldn't have to pre-strech it as that weakens the hose.

It was a dmc part. The fit was so tight prestretching was the only way I could get it on there. Its not under pressure so Im not too concerned...better than the old sweaty one!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the DMC vendors provide NOS replacements for that hose. Mine was sweating, ordered and fitted the replacement, and the sweating returned.

Must replace it with a brand new at some point...

Sweating, I may have check my 34 year old hose for this possibility.

We have new (not NOS) hoses for this application. No need to put a 34 year old hose in there!

I bled the clutch just to be sure (easy enough with Herveys bleeder).
There was absolutely no air in the system, so for future reference, if you change the hose between the reservoir and clutch master, and you do not touch the clutch pedal you should not need to bleed the clutch.

I wouldn't think so. It's all up hill from the master to the bottle.

Update....NOS hose is now sweating again.
Any options from the local autozone?

Power steering hose or automatic transmission cooler hose. Autozone sells both by the foot.
