Hello, any help with the following issue would be appreciated. A couple weeks ago I removed the blower motor and cleaned and lubed it, to take care of an annoying squeal. This last weekend I removed the console to get to the antenna wires to fix the power antenna. Upon replacing the console I notice I am no longer getting air out of any of the vents, either centre or door. In addition I no longer hear the customary hissing sound as I operate the mode switch. I don't think I rewired the blower to run backwards, but anything is possible I guess. Any thoughts as to where I should start?

So it did work before you took the console out?

The vacuum line (a hard black plastic hose) for the A/C runs from the engine to the dash under the center console. You could have crushed, kinked, or otherwise damaged it. BTW a properly operating mode switch shouldn't make a lot of noise. It should also turn easily. If it doesn't you need to take it apart and lubricate the diaphragm.

Yeah, my blower motor puts out a real annoying squeal too but it is the last thing on my never ending list! One of these days...
Anyway, if you were messing around in the console you could have knocked off the connector at the back of the fan speed switch. If you don't have the hiss then check out the hose that David T mentioned. Are you running the engine when checking for the hiss? If your engine is off it won't hiss at all after a few turns since it uses stored vacuum which runs out until the engine is run again and that is if you don't have a leak somewhere already using the stored vacuum.
