If you have one and can either scan it, measure it or just take some pictures sitting on a ruler I might be able make them to 3D print.

Tool number J.28858 It's the one that supports the timing sprocket and maintains tension on the chain.

I already have plenty of OEM PRV Tools, so I don't need any more.

Now don't say that I never did anything nice for you!

I'm sure I have the VOLVO one, I will dig it out later and post some pics if no one beats me to it!

We needed one, so we had a few extras made up that we can "loan" out.

$100 fully refundable as long as you don't break it.

Worst case you just remove the timing cover and remove the timing chains. The tool is so you don't have to do that. Saves a lot of time but if you have to replace the pulley seal or the timing cover is leaking you have to take it off anyway.

Agreed. We actually don't use this tool very often as we are generally pulling both heads and the timing cover anyway. It's more of a short-cut if you know it's a simple repair but the head has to come off.

Right. But that is the difference between the Sprocket Support, and the dummy bearing (this is directed at anyone who is unfamiliar with what these tools are used for).

You remove the valve covers, and attach the Sprocket Support to the Timing Cover, and with the Cam Sprocket attached to the support, you can then slide the Cylinder Heads off. Then once removed, you can install the Dummy Bearings along with the the Cylinder liner brackets. With the Cam Sprocket on the Dummy Bearing, the Timing Chain cover can come off. Then you can even replace pistons and connecting rods, all without losing cam Timing on anything.

That's the one that holds the sprocket and will allow it to turn.

I will be removing my exhaust system shortly and I want to replace the crank pulley seal while it's off. Am I able to simply remove the pulley nut and swap the o-ring seal behind the pulley without worrying about keeping the crank aligned? I'm wondering if I need a sprocket tool? I've spoken to a couple local owners and apparently you can swap the seal out relatively easily and its a quick job.

Any pointers would be welcomed!

Understand you should have the keyway on top
so it doesn't fall into the oil pan.

The nut holding the pulley on can be difficult to remove. Get a long breaker bar or an impact gun. Try to remove the pulley with the key up as mentioned. If the surface where the seal rides on the pulley is messed up try putting the seal in a slightly different position, further in or out to ride on a different spot.

You can also renew the seal surface on the pulley with a speedi-sleeve. Federal Mogul. 99169.
