Hi all,

After working on the front end suspension, hub bearings, I bought 3 different retaining ring pliers from home depot to other car part store, which sucked, did not work. Returned them all.

I am currently working on the rear suspension, need to remove the retaining rings. What retaining ring pliers do you guys recommend??

I looked all over online, but not enough information on the quality, and size rings it can be used on.

After breaking multiple of the cheap ones I bought these. They are excellent! I've used them truly countless times now, and the ends are still like new. They easily switch between internal pliers and external pliers by flipping the handles. You can buy replacement ends if need be (but it comes with all the ones shown when you buy them). I bought them locally at one of the better auto parts stores but this is them. I heavily recommend them.

I have that same set. Think I got it a NAPA. Even with the good tools, you may need to help removeing that front bearing ring with a small screwdriver and the pliers if the bearing is pressing on the retaining ring.

Besides the other leads provided all the professional grade of tool suppliers that have mobile distributers carry them. Snap-On, Matco, Mac etc.
Of course they will probably be more expensive than some of the others mentioned but you can often find these tool trucks as they make thier daily rounds to repair shops and car dealers.
My main reason for posting however is to let you know you will often need to "unload" the bearing off the retaining ring using a hydraulic press to facilitate bearing removal. This applies to both the front and rear wheel bearings.
