R 134 how much gas?

ST-29-11/81 changed it to 2.2 lbs BUT that was for R-12. If you are using -134 you are supposed to load with 10% less so that would be 1.98 lbs.

I'm curious how you came up with 36 oz (2.25 lb) for R134a when that is supposed to be the R12 amount. 36 oz (3 12 oz cans) is a convenient measure to use. (no partial cans left over) Maybe I should say, why do your kits require more 134a than would otherwise be needed in a direct R12 to 134a conversion using the standard 90% by weight conversion rule.

Careful now, some of those small cans are 14 and 16 OZ. The amount was not meant to be neat (3 12 oz cans). Typically when a shop fills a system it uses a 30 lb bottle into a charging cylinder or they put the 30 lber on a scale and weigh it in.

I am aware of that David, but thanks for pointing that out for others. Fwiw all of the cans I've purchased over the years have been the 12 oz variety. I know they make the big cans too.

For what it's worth, I believe that if you have Herveys 2 piece lines you need a little extra. Hervey bumps both of the lines up one size from stock because it is easier (cheaper) for him to get the end fittings for the larger hoses. Because of that, you've got extra volume in the lines running the length of your car. Every time I've charged my AC, it's been by weight, and it always has the symptoms of the system being low. Unfortunately this leaves you with no exact amount, just the need to add a little until the system operates properly.

Does your hose kit handle the replacement hose on this hub?

This hub seems to be the common configuration and it seems only DAP has it.

I have an SD5H14 compressor. Don't think that has a high pressure relief. Does somebody have a photo of what the compressor relief looks like?

Mine does not have that relief. When I installed the new compressor, I swapped the back plate from the old compressor. I just assumed the old compressor was OEM.

We offer the back housing as an add on. I'm more a fan of the early style without one anyways. But of those that really want it the option is available for the application.

Do you provide a wiring extension harness for the high pressure switch or does the hub hose harness reach to the New location?
