I too have a nearly complete original engine with approximately 77Kmi on it. I have a video of the engine running prior to pulling it, along with pictures including ones of the internals, bearing surfaces, etc. No coolant issues, no head gasket issues, no overheat issues. Depending on the price and if you need them, this will be sold with a remanufactured [Eagle] starter, engine wiring harnesses and exhaust. Please read more below and PM with additional questions or requests for further information. I am not sure what it is worth so I'll start on the high end as usual at $4K and tell you to please make a reasonable offer, help me get my garage back guys. If pictures are not posted, they will be ASAP.
Known issues:
Water pump thermostat housing was swapped with one that doesn't have the bleed screw since I needed it for my replacement engine.
Missing AC compressor
Missing alternator
Missing alternator brackets
Fuel distributor may or may not need replacing. The O-rings went bad and was rebuilt. Since sitting it may need another rebuild or replacing.
Needs oil dipstick & tube
An exhaust manifold stud or 2 are broken off, you can always use the alternate holes.
The micro switch that activates on full throttle is inoperative.
Could use a front crank seal in the timing cover.
It has all S/S fuel lines (some fittings may be rusty), 8mm wires (all)
Spark plugs were replaced probably a month before pulling, same with cap/rotor.
It will have some of the blue silicone hoses (from FPR to underneath the intake).
In the last 10 years, replaced was the fuel distributor (read above), FPR, lines, injectors, vacuum solenoid, water pump (aluminum pulley). The only thing that is original is the frequency valve and cold start valve which never gave problems. It had a few stripped bolt holes which a slightly larger size bolt was used and everything holds well. The holes that come to mind are one or two holding the W pipe to the intake, and one or 2 of the intake to cylinder head bolts. Again, larger bolts were threaded in and can be torqued down. It does have the O-rings and plastic backing rings on the W pipe, usually the plastic rings are gone and sought after.
Last engine timing adjustment check was probably early 2014, last valve adjustment was around 2010, last rear main seal replacement was within the last 10 years. The car sat for 3-4 years while I was in the military, and then the engine has sat but run periodically 2010-2014. Never smoked (okay, lies, it smoked when my original fuel distributor leaked and dumped fuel down the intake in the early 2000's), never knocked or made any abnormal noises. All sensors worked fine.
Engine could be dropped in right now, although it could use a cleaning. If you live near me and need help installing, I'd be willing to help.
Selling due to the fact I had a good B280F engine sitting there and was up to the swap challenge. There is nothing wrong with the original engine and I would keep it but I just don't have the room for it.
I will go over the engine and post anything that I may have missed as far as condition along with pictures. If this needs to be shipped it will be shrink wrapped and placed on a pallet.
