Hi there,

I just tested mine. I borrowed one from Auto Zone. I think it was a Motor Rad part number 9300. It was very sturdy and worked like a charm. And it was a free "rental".

Thanks,
Dana

Mityvac mv4560. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003V9L05G/ref=mp_s_a_1_14?qid=1436183601&sr=8-14&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=mityvac

Bought this and used it on my car. Great price. Worked great. No complaints.

+1 Mityvac.
OR if you have a compressor, you can use this to check leaks and fill coolants. UView 550000 Airlift Cooling System Leak Checker and Airlock Purge Tool Kit.

I made my own with a pressure gauge, tire valve and some pipe. I just hook it onto the smaller hose on the fill tank. Make sure you use a sealer on all pipe fittings if you make one or you will loose air during a timed pressure test.

You add pressure via the tire valve.

I have been using this loaner tool (http://www.autozone.com/test-scan-and-specialty-tools/cooling-system-test-kit/oem-radiator-and-cap-test-kit/391374_0_0/) from PepBoys/O'reily/etc with reliable results. All you need to do is put a deposit down and you get it refunded once the tool is returned.

I had purchased a cheaper pressure tester from harbor freight which didn't seal correctly on my header tank. 0/10 would not recommend that one!
