Hi guys. I just got me DeLorean back from Danny's a few weeks ago, and at first the fuel gauge was slow at registering how much fuel I had when I filled up- but it did work. So now I get to less than half a tank, fill up, and it's still where it was- and even stays there with the car off.
Is there a fuse I should look for or possibly a disconnected wire at the tank? It still has the original sender and pump. They were going to install the new combo unit, but because my car has a Chevy 350, the new pump didn't provide enough gas- not to mention they found I have a second fuel pump inline for the needed pressure.

Any help would be great!

Greg,

That sounds to me like the float inside is physically stuck. If there is an electrical connection problem with those senders, it usually just results in pointing the needle straight up.

If yours stays in the same place regardless of how much fuel is in the tank, my bet would be something has caused the float inside the sender to stick halfway. Take any stuff you have out of the trunk, remove the carpet and spare tire, and then remove the access cover. Loosen the sender from above and pull it out. You can leave it electrically connected if you like, since if you have a helper to watch for you, you can carefully tip it up and down and see if the fuel gauge moves. You might see or feel what the problem is just from taking it out.

Fortunately there's nothing in the trunk and the car didn't come with the carpet. I'll do the test this weekend and see what's going on. Maybe I can get it to start moving.. or just get a new sender if all else fails.
