Wanted: RH knee pad in gray. Will pay $$$$

I would like a good condition RH (passenger side) knee pad in gray. If this does not exist, has anybody had success in outsourcing a recover of this part? My foam is in good condition, but the leather is terribly torn.

I had mine recovered. All you'll lose is the grain. Most upholstery shops can do a good job for around $50

I have just the cover in vinyl grey, not leather. Willing to part with it for $65. I did take the time to have an upholstery company in town measure from the original specs, sew and cut me one as a backup. I'll ship it out to you at no additional cost via us postal priority if you need it!

Another option would be to buy one in black and dye it grey. SEM Acura charcoal is a pretty much dead on match to the original grey color. From what I understand DMCH still has NOS black RH knee pads in stock.

Kind of pricey, but you'll get the correct grain pattern vs a recover that will look smooth compared to the other vinyl surfaces in the car.

The SEM Acura charcoal paint is no longer in production but a few members on the board (myself included) have small stockpiles of unused cans to sell.

Here's a few pictures of the vinyl knee pad cover (slip), fitted and stitched by an upholster company here in town. It does fit good wrapped around the original black knee pad mold. Will require some adhesive (I recommend 3M headliner spray to attach to the mold [no spray on foam] and clamp it down for an over night cure). This was an outline cut of the original material (note photo). This peice may require some final edge trimming after it is adhered to your knee pad's mold. Originally, DMC stapled the material to the inside of the knee pad to secure/ stretch for a final wrap around.

Note: A circle would need to be cut to match The A/C vent port piece.

I am going to try to order a black one and dye it from DMCH. Feel free to sell to the other users. If I can get a black one and dye it to satisfaction, I will post on here with my original for sale so those who don't have a base to apply a cover can go that route.

DMCH used sell the black ones already dyed grey because the original NOS grey pads have been gone for years now. Call them directly to see if that is still the case.

DMC5180 suggestion to call DMCH is a good choice. However, I was on a wait list for a complete knee pad w/ headquarters, waited, and waited... nothing. Luckily, I came across a unit on eBay and snagged an NOS. If you're patient enough, from time to time, they do pop-up, rarely, on eBay so keep an eye out (InRe; to my PM to you earlier). You might get lucky or like my son's say, "Dad, you got Wookie!". So, wait for one and you might get one. Definitely, anybody interested in the repro slip send me a PM asap!
