Is anybody here using these?

Are you happy with the operation?

To me they don't have a nice switching action.

Thanks

On/off switches that you can put into the 2 x blank spaces with the window and defogger switches.

The ON/OFF switch is just a blank defroster switch. Reproduction. Meant to be used as an accessory switch of your choosing.

Yes that's right.

Im using one for my power steering and the other for the running lights.

We have made a silicon mold to make new switch caps with end result being back lit switches for the defogger, power steering and running lights.

It will look great to have all 5 switches back lit.

I agree the action is not as good as I would like but so far have not had it fail. I don't know the current rating on the switch contacts but my use is just a few ma. I have looked for another switch but have not found anything the correct size for the OEM cutouts. Lots of a standard size which is a little smaller than OEM.

I do like the switching action of the new window switches. Wonder if I can change it from momentary to on/off.

I did not like the switching action of the repro switches either... They would bind up sometimes and felt clunky. The shape of the switch did not match OEM very well either.

I ultimately decided to get rid of the repro switches and I bought a couple used original defrost switches. I scuffed those lightly and painted over the top with SEM trim black. They blend in seamlessly and have a much better feel.

The DS switch I have wired to a relay so I can cut power to the radio antenna if I don't want it to go up and down. No need for it to be up when the radio is on and I'm using my iPod. Haven't found a use for the PS side switch yet.

I use the defrost switch to turn the red neon tubes on/off behind the cut out
DELOREAN letters on the back bumper. It's fun to flash people intently peering
trying to figure out what kind of car it is.

I use the on/off switch for a cooling fan override (because I am paranoid after an otterstat failure in week 3 of ownership) I use it quite a bit in stop and go traffic and never have had a problem. I ground it on the door lock circuit breaker and power from a three way connector I made at the A/C override diode.
