Hazards work, turn signals don't...

So last night my turn signals stopped working but the hazards work... so i'm a bit puzzled with whats wrong here.

What do you think is the next logical thing you should check to narrow it down? If the bulbs themselves work (the common) item, and you get them on with the hazards switch but not the turn signal stalk, what might make sense to check next?

Same bulbs, but different fuses. Check fuse #4 if the brake lights aren't working either. Then the flasher unit.

Probably bad horns. Pull the wires off the horns and see if the lights still dim.

Darn phone. Should have said "Hazard Switch wiring is loose" Check the connector on the back of the hazard switch. The hazard switch is electrically in between the flasher and the turn signal switch. If the hazard switch fails, or the connections on the back get loose, it can still work but kill the turn signals completely.

You may have a bad combination horn/signal switch since both don't seem to be working.

Just in case- If the turn signals come on but don't flash, it could be a weak flasher, depending on which of 3 ways they are made internally (twice the bulbs for hazards in the circuit)...
Probably not the flasher..I've been working on too many trucks lately :)

If you have the correct flasher then if you have bulbs burnt out the turn signals won't flash. Put the hazards on and see that all of the bulbs are blinking. The most common problems are:
burnt out bulbs
wrong bulbs
bulbs incorrectly forced into the sockets (mainly the double-filiment bulbs)
corroded sockets
bad/incorrect flasher

Weird so I tried fuse 4 with another fuse from the fuse box. Used #10 (AC) fuse because it was working fine. Same issue, no horn and no turn signals. Hazards worked just fine. All bulbs working. checked the hazard switch wiring all was fine. I tried the fuse that was orignially in #4 and put it in #10 (AC) and the AC worked just fine. I wiggled and jiggled fuse 4 and no change.

As a fluke I decided to just buy a new fuse and lo and behold the horn and turn indicator now works. replaced both fuses just in case.
